Church History

In 1967 a group of American military members migrated from France when NATO was asked to leave and began meeting in Casteau, Belgium. This group originally was a mission work from the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Paris, France. The missions main aim was to provide a place where English speakers could gather and praise the name of our Lord. By 1968, this once small house group had grown to such an extent that they decided to officially organize as a congregation with their own pastor.

The International Baptist Church has been meeting regularly since 1973 in Jurbise as a group of believers for the purpose of worship, personal growth and sharing the Gospel with all who live in the SHAPE area.  Over the years this outreach has included many who are not Americans but nevertheless speak English.

We now offer translation in French every Sunday morning!

Since 1967 literally thousands of people from all over the world have been changed by the impact of this church.

We are affiliated with the International Baptist Convention, and have a fraternal relationship to the Southern Baptist Convention.
